Our company was founded in 2006 by Eleanor Methot and her two daughters, Celeste Methot and Michele Fuchs. The three women, who all advocate for a healthy lifestyle, created the company to provide the necessary tools to get the most out of every age and every stage of life. To them that means innovative products and the information and encouragement to help our customers meet their personal health and fitness goals ... whether they're running a marathon or beginning a walking routine.

Seventy-six year-old Eleanor is emblematic of the fitness goals she espouses. Each day she engages in a vigorous power walking routine that serves to keep her healthy and active. Michele also partakes in a daily exercise routine which combines cardiovascular exercise and strength training. The vacations she takes with her family are also based around fitness activities. Celeste has an M.S. in Exercise Physiology. She participates in long-distance running/walking events and cycling. Recently she's become a golf "addict" -- striving to lower her handicap.

Eleanor comments, “Active By Choice was built from our active lifestyles and necessity. We wanted to bring our peers and others products that we have used or would use to maintain our active lifestyles as we age.”

Corporate Bios

Eleanor serves as the President of Active By Choice. She has a B.S. in Science from Fitchburg State College and has been a Registered Nurse for over 50 years. Eleanor has used her educational background and knowledge to build several successful family-owned companies where health and fitness are the primary focus. Her dedication to quality is reflected in her membership in the National Association for Healthcare Quality and her certification as a Healthcare Quality Professional.

Eleanor, like her two daughters, is a fierce advocate for maintaining a healthy lifestyle through sound nutrition and a consistent fitness routine. She power walks daily, practices Pilates, and follows a strength training routine. She participates in several community walk/run events annually, and is currently in training for a half marathon.

Eleanor believes that her active lifestyle has kept her happy, healthy and fit. Her hobbies include photography and watercolor painting.

 

Celeste is ABC’s VP of Finance.  She has an M.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Tennessee.  She has over 20 years of professional experience. She joins her mother and sister in the venture to bring tried and tested products to the active baby boomer community.

A lifetime of often stringent physical activities has taken a toll on Celeste's baby boomer body. Her pursuit of supports and devices to help her stay active while overcoming injuries was the genesis of Active By Choice, Inc. This began in conjunction with her sister, and mother, who were dealing with similar physical situations. "We wanted a place we could go to, that would not just present us with a bunch of products, and leave us guessing about the quality and effectiveness. We wanted to know that the products were the right ones for the ' US', the active baby boomer audience."

Celeste has been an advocate for physical activity all of her life. She continues to stay active with a diverse fitness routine that includes community long-distance running/walking events and cycling.  She has also taken up Golf and and strives to lower her handicap.  She lives by the motto, "Propel your body through space.”

Michele is the Clinical Director for ABC and the other health-related business run by her family. Like her mother, she’s also a registered Nurse with a B.S in Science from Florida International University. Together with her mother and sister, Michele co-owns and operates the family health and fitness businesses.

Like her mother and sister, Michele also enjoys an active lifestyle. Engaging in physical activity on a regular basis, Michele mixes it up with cardio, spot training, and the punching bag Celeste gave her. Stating "If you're bored with what you're doing, you won't do it for long."  At a minimum, she strives to fit an exercise routine into her busy schedule at least three days a week. In addition to traditional exercise, Michele and her family enjoy an eclectic outdoor lifestyle that includes fishing, motorcycling, camping, four-wheeling and hunting with her husband.

She loves to travel and experience new places — a love shared by the entire family. "We often travel together but our idea of a vacation may be someone else's idea of a training marathon. We never sit still, logging many foot miles on every trip".
